Vice minister of transport visits SIP Port for a survey

Liu Xiaoming, the country’s vice minister of transport, and his contingent visited SIP Port on July 29, as part of their tour in Suzhou for a field survey on inland water transportation.
 
At SIP Port, which is hailed as the largest inland port in East China’s Jiangsu province, 125 officials from the central and local governments and representatives of related enterprises listened to the port operator’s report and gained a holistic picture of its development and operations. Liu gave high comments on a series of measures adopted at the port for pollution prevention and improvement of service efficiency.
The participants later discussed strategies for a better development of inland water transportation.
