More than 120 officials, including SIP Administrative Committee Director Ding Lixin and other leading officials from different administrative departments, joined SIP’s Opinion Poll Day activities in 121 local communities in July, talking with the residents’ representatives face-to-face to learn about their needs.

It is learnt that SIP adopted the Opinion Poll Day mechanism in 2011 for local officials to meet with residents on the second Sunday of every month to listen to their opinions and seek solutions for problems bothering them. Statistics show that SIP saw 492 Opinion Poll Day activities from January to July, during which 2,254 residents and enterprise staff expressed their opinions.

In the listening tour in July, the officials gained a better understanding of a series of issues the residents are concerned about, covering property maintenance, medical services, living facilities and so on. They answered the residents’ inquiries, exchanged ideas with them and urged competent authorities to follow up issues in need of further solutions.
