A Singaporean delegation consisting of members from Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and 14 Singapore-based companies started a one-week tour in SIP on Jan 14, trying to seek cooperation opportunities in the fields of biomedicine, healthcare, nanotech and information technology.

A*STAR, a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, spearheads economic development-oriented research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology. It signed an agreement with SIP at the 19th China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council Meeting held in Singapore on Sept 20, 2018 to launch cooperation in science and technology innovation and commercialization. Based on that, the two parties jointly inaugurated the A*STAR Suzhou Cooperation Center in SIP last October to put the agreed items into substantial practices.

The delegation is scheduled to visit a number of SIP's industrial clusters such as BioBay, Dongshahu Funds Town and Nanopolis Suzhou to gain a holistic picture of SIP's industrial layout, and attend several seminars to discuss details for potential cooperation.
