Li warmly welcomed the Singaporean guests, expressed his gratitude for the long-term support from MTI for the development of Suzhou and China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, and briefed the guests on Suzhou's economic and social development.

Li said that SIP is the epitome of Sino-Singaporean cooperative projects, adding that SIP's achievements in such aspects as opening up and innovation, transformation and upgrading and construction of a more livable new city have been fully affirmed at the 18th China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council Meeting held in February. He hoped that the two sides would further enhance cooperation to speed up the process of building SIP into a domestic and international renowned hi-tech industrial park.

Koh spoke highly of the marvelous achievements of SIP in the past 23 years since its development and construction and of the increasingly closer relationship between Singapore and Suzhou. He pledged that MTI would continue to promote mutual cooperation in sci-tech innovation and other fields to make new glories, hoping that the two sides would find new opportunities to make cooperation more fruitful.
