Singapore guests visited Suzhou

Qu Futian, mayor of Suzhou, met the Singaporean delegation led by Luke Goh, deputy secretary and director of Software Office of the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Jan 19.

Qu expressed his gratitude to the guests for their long time support to the development of Suzhou and SIP.

He said that SIP has made remarkable achievements over the past two decades and become the “engine” in the innovation-driven development and opening-up of Suzhou, adding that all this is closely related to the borrowing and learning of Singapore’s successful experience.

He also noted that Suzhou is at present making continuous efforts to build the city into a higher-level well-off society; it will further draw the advanced experience of Singapore in technological innovation, social governance, etc.

He hopes that both sides will expand areas of cooperation and enrich cooperation content for the purpose of greater achievements.

Luke Goh said that the Ministry of Trade and Industry has always attached significance to the exchange and cooperation with Suzhou and that both sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in areas of talent, innovation, etc. so as to, seek more opportunities in the Road and Belt Initiative and realize win-win cooperation.
