The 5th Love Zone Charity Carnival took place at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre on Jan 1.

In addition to "Happy Charity and Everyone's Charity", the theme of the previous four carnivals, Love Zone Charity Foundation and Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in China jointly initiated a special charity session "Be with Syria" this year.

All the money collected, amounting to 304,010 yuan, will be used in post-war Syria for the medical rehabilitation for the injured and disabled children.

Imad Moustapha, Syrian Ambassador to China, was present at the carnival and the donation ceremony. He said he was very happy to attend the event and was deeply touched when he saw many citizens take part in flea market charity sale and donate money. The ambassador expressed appreciation for everyone's care for and support to the children in post-war Syria.

Many citizens came to the carnival holding their Love Zone Buddy piggy banks and donated the pocket money saved over the past year to help poor children finish their studies.

According to Ms. Wu, a resident of SIP, she brought along her two-year-old daughter here and donated 426 yuan kept in the piggy bank; she finds it very meaningful that the money can help the students in local schools for migrant workers' children.
