The total tax revenue in SIP reached 56.46 billion yuan ($8.18 billion) in 2016, an increase of 1.4 billion yuan ($202 million) over the previous year.

The tax revenue collected by SIP National Tax Bureau totaled 39 billion yuan ($5.65 billion), up by 3.098 billion yuan ($448 million), or 8.62%, over the same period of last year, next only to Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi and Changzhou among all the provincial city tax bureaus.

The tax revenue collected by SIP Local Tax Bureau added up to 17.46 billion yuan ($2.73 billion), marking a same-caliber increase of 2.47 billion yuan ($358 million), or 16.5%.

SIP tax authorities arranged a total of 27.9 billion yuan ($4.03 billion) of public finance budget in 2016, of which the national tax authorities contributed 14.85 billion yuan ($2.15 billion), up by 30.63% from the same period of last year, and the local tax authorities contributed 13.05 billion yuan ($1.89 billion), or a same-caliber increase of 17.4%.
