Xu Huimin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, visited Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) & Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) on Jan 3.

Xu visited Institute of Materia Medica, PUMC, and had a talk with Cao Xuetao, CAS Academician, director of PUMC and director general of Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine (SISM), to discuss the close cooperation between CAMS and SIP and in-depth development in the future.

As China's national team in health care, CAMS has made significant contributions to the development of China's health care. With the strong support of CAMS, SIP-based SISM has undertaken and taken part in multiple national and provincial level science and technology projects since it was set up in 2014, and has made a series of original achievements in such areas as major sudden infectious diseases, tumor immunity, etc.

A number of medicine and biotechnology R&D institutions as well as research personnel have gathered in SIP in recent years, which raised its level of science and technology development and comparatively strong medicine and biotechnology R&D and innovation capabilities.

Xu hoped CAMS would further boost the construction and development of SISM and continue to support the innovative development of SIP's biomedicine industry.
