With a view to strengthening network and new media construction in women's federation system, Suzhou Women's Federation (SWF) and SIP Women's Working Committee (SIPWWC) convened a meeting on the preparations for the establishment of Suzhou New Media Women's Federation (SNMWF) on Dec 23.

Wang Qunyu, deputy president of SWF, explained the background, method and requirement regarding the initiative. The preparatory work for the new organization won strong support from the attendees, and some media representatives responded favorably to the new initiative.

Xie Jianhong, president of SWF, pointed out that to strengthen network and new media construction in the women's federation system is the necessary requirement for mass organizations to adapt to the development of the times and the demands of women and promote the structure and mechanism reform in the women's federation system, which plays a significant role in improving the attraction, cohesion and influence of women's federation in the all-media era. 

She hoped new media would give more attention to women and children and do a better job in attracting, educating, guiding and serving women. 

SNMWF is reportedly being piloted in SIP. SIPWWC will next set up SIP New Media Women's Federation in an effort to explore the new methods and models of women's federation and new media and break new ground for the organization work of women's federation.
