On the morning of August 1, CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee held its enlarged meeting at Xiandai Building to review the work in the first half of the year, to assign tasks for the second half of the year and to call on all the cadres and masses of people to strengthen their confidence and sense of mission, and fulfill the targets and goals of the year 2016 in the well-started "13th 5-year plan".

SIP reaped a total GDP of 104.45 billion yuan, rising by 7.3% year on year, collected 15.29 billion yuan public budgeted revenue with an increase of 12.3%, and achieved fixed assets investment of 30.49 billion yuan with a growth of 8.5%, and realized a total retail sales of consumer goods of 19.67 billion yuan with an increase of 16.2%, which ensured smooth growth of major economic indexes, uplifted transformation and upgrading, and accelerated energy transfer.

According to the plan of comprehensive experimentation in opening up and innovation, SIP has drawn up a list of 88 items of reform and 60 items of annual reform tasks, drafted three incentive policies for smart manufacturing, cost reduction, and corporate input in R&D. SIP achieved the output values of 23 billion, 18.3 billion, and 18.1 billion yuan respectively for biomed, nanotech application, and cloud computing industries, which showed that the new emerging industries expanded rapidly. All-round advancement was effected in the construction of financial and trade zone, the business zone, the sci-tech innovation district, and tourism & leisure zone, and a number of sub-district public amenities were built. The study campaign of "studying Party Constitution and rules and CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping's speeches, and striving to be a qualified Party member" was conducted in a solid way and strict Party governance was imposed.
