2016 Suzhou Industrial Park Working Conference on Publicity (Spiritual Civilization) was held on March 28 at Xiandai Building to review work of the past year and assign the main tasks for this year.

In 2015, the work of publicity and spiritual civilization was unfolded in SIP with a series of thematic publicity activities with far-reaching influence in coordination with the major events such as listing of SIP as national demonstration zone on independent innovation in South Jiangsu, the convening of the 17th China-Singapore SIP Joint Steering Council Meeting, and the state approval for comprehensive experimentation on opening up and innovation. By implementing the strategy of "building up SIP with thriving culture", strengthening the construction of cultural infrastructure, and expanding the influence of cultural brand, SIP has made uninterrupted improvements of its cultural soft strength.

In the performance assessment of cultural undertakings, SIP ranked the top in the whole municipality for three years in a row, and its "civilization i-plan" was elected to the "top 10 new events of Suzhou" and as a classic case of network civilization in China. Hudong Community Party Working Committee was honored as "national model of civilized unit" as the first of its kind in SIP, and "SIP Release" WeChat boasted the largest number of readings and praise clicks among all the administrative WeChat websites in Suzhou.

In the year 2016, the first year of "13th 5-year plan" and the year to carry out the all-round comprehensive experimentation on opening up and innovation in SIP, as well as a crucial year to renew the work of publicity and spiritual civilization with the setup of SIP Publicity Department. With focus on central tasks of SIP, the work of publicity will aim to open up a new situation by taking effective measures to build up a pyramidal pool of lecturers to spread innovation concepts, to enhance SIP influence both in China and overseas through the carriers of major campaigns and international conventions, to further substantiate the spiritual civilization promotion through persistent in-depth implementation of the "civilization i-plan", "clicking likes for SIP people", "neighborhood mini lecture halls" and other activities, to encourage the participation of all social forces in cultural products supply and service, to promote popular cultural and sports projects, to organize Suzhou symphonic orchestra and expand the cultural and sports brand influence, and to encourage the integration of cultural industry with technological innovation so as to uplift the cultural industry to a higher plane.
