According to sources from the half-year enlarged meeting held by CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee, in the first half of 2015, SIP's GDP reached 100.1 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1% over the previous year; revenue in the general public budgets increased by 10.3% to 13.61 billion yuan, with tax revenue accounting for 93.8%; the paid-up foreign investment reached 1.04 billion USD dollars; import and export volume remained stable with 37.68 billion USD dollars completed; fixed assets investment declined by 14.9% to 28.1 billion yuan; the total retail sales of consumer goods rose by 10.5% to 16.98 billion yuan; the number of listed enterprises so far reached 14 and that of listed enterprises on National Equities Exchange and Quotations reached 28; output value of hi-tech industries increased by 6.9% to 130.4 billion yuan and output value of new-emerging industries increased by 9.9% to 116.3 billion yuan, respectively occupying 67.4% and 60.1% of the output value of companies each with annual revenues exceeding 20 million yuan; 21 more talents (1 foreign talent included) made it to the list of "global experts" and the total number so far reached 118, putting SIP in prominent position in Suzhou, Jiangsu and among national development zones; 118 talents were recognized as "Jiangsu High-end Start-up Business & Innovation Talents" and 193 as "Leading Talents of Innovation and Start-up Business in Suzhou", with the greatest number in the province and in the city.

In the first half of the year 2015, with the aim of building a national demonstration zone of independent innovation in south Jiangsu Province and with great efforts to promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation, SIP clustered 36 startup incubators in which 277 projects are being incubated, with eight civilian-run incubators incorporated into the national sci-tech business incubator management system, and maintained the first place in the whole of Suzhou in terms of the number of valid invention patent ownership per 10,000 residents reaching 74, 63 PCT patents applied and 723 invention patents licensed.

At the same time, SIP has been channeling great energy into creating a favorable environment suited for living and starting business. In the first half of the year 2015, SIP started research in intelligent integrated traffic planning (2015-2030), worked hard to accelerate the construction of such projects as Xinggang Street tunnel and eastward extension of Suhong Road, completed the phase-3 of intelligent public transportation, put online the smart community platform, developed 60 major ecological civilization projects as planned, came to the finishing touch in the construction of Soong Ching-ling Kindergarten, put into use Children's Hospital (SIP), went well in the construction of Jiuling Apartment and SIP Public Health Center, and completed two rounds of coverage expansion of Fumin specific fund and distributed 73.56 million yuan dividend.

In the second half of the year 2015, SIP will make special efforts to attract businesses engaged in high-end manufacturing, high-tech industry and modern service industry, formulate planning in compliance with the national "13th Five-Year Plan", do a good job in major projects reserve, and systematically make progress in the construction of SIP Sports Center and Dushu Lake Hospital. SIP will put great weight behind the development of new types of business and new business models such as e-commerce and cultural creativity, and try to increase the contribution of added value of service industry to GDP by 1.5 percentage points throughout the year. SIP will accelerate the development of the regional financial highland to make sure that the total number of financial institutions will exceed 700 within the year. SIP will promote prosperity of commerce and trade and assist commercial carriers such as Eslite Bookstore and Jingcheng Neighborhood Center to open. And SIP will vigorously improve its innovation capacity and strive to break ground for the phase-2 project of bioBAY, accelerate the construction of Tencent maker space (Suzhou), and uplift service functions of InnoCorridor to improve SIP's image as a "makers' paradise".
