Lee Kuan Yew Mourned in SIP through Photo Exhibition

The obituary of Singapore Prime Minister's Office on March 23 announced Lee Kuan Yew's death at 3:18 hours due to severe illness, and the sad news shocked and deeply grieved people of all walks of life in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). On March 25, a photo exhibition entitled "Lee Kuan Yew and Suzhou Industrial Park" was held at SIP Archives Building jointly by SIP Office for Adapting Experience of Singapore and Suzhou Singapore Club in memory of the founder of China-Singapore good relations.

Lee Kuan Yew is an active advocator of SIP, a project of China-Singapore cooperation with the support of the leaders of the two countries, for which Lee has contributed his wisdom and painstaking efforts. Since 1992, Lee visited SIP eight times, met the chairman of Chinese side of China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council three times in Singapore, and received Suzhou delegation to Singapore four times, taking every opportunity to contribute his bright ideas and visions about the development of SIP.

The photos on display capture historic moments and bring to mind the unforgettable memories of Lee Kuan Yew and his profound sentiments about SIP, as well as the warm memories of SIP people about the great man.

Among those visiting the exhibition to express their sadness and mourning were Wang Xiang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, Yang Zhiping, Deputy Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and Director of SIP Administrative Committee, Singaporeans working or living in SIP, and people from all social strata.
