On January 27, the leaders of Suzhou Industrial Park Loufeng Sub-district held a meeting to review their work and conduct criticism and self-criticism, popularly known as the "democratic life meeting", with the attendance of Wang Xiang, Standing Committee member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee.

In his speech at the meeting, Wang gave positive appraisal of such meetings and raised requirements on the implementation of the study and practice of the Party's policies and guidelines and strict Party administration. He told the sub-district leaders that they should have a complete grasp on the Party's political discipline and improve their political consciousness and political study, should maintain consistent demand on their subordinates, and should be bold and strict in dealing issues in various fields of work.

To live up to the above requirements, Wang said, the leading cadres should first of all improve their ideological understanding by seriously studying the series of speeches of General Secretary Xi Jingping of the Party, making clear who they were, whom to work for, and whom to rely on, and adhering to the Party discipline and honest governance. Secondly, all the Party cadres should do solid work in economic and system transformation and upgrading, the correct handling of pro-business and pro-people relationships, and the Party building at grass-roots levels.
