On the afternoon of September 30, CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee called an enlarged meeting reviewing the safe production issues, analyzing common challenges, and assigning new tasks for next stage. The participants included the leaders of CPC SIP Working Committee, SIP Administrative Committee, government departments and agencies, sub-district offices, and CPC community working committees.

According to the plans of provincial, municipal, and SIP Party committees and governments, SIP started an examination program in mid-June monitoring and securing production safety. After a fatal blast hit a metal factory in Kunshan on August 2, local government has tightened the reins and sent special task forces inspecting and eliminating hazards to safety.

The local authorities introduced 23 action plans, registered 7,750 inspection people/times, examined 10,339 places/times, found 9,608 safety risks, corrected 4,517 on site, imposed administrative penalties on 8,911 cases, and total fines of 4,835,000 yuan.

Yang Zhiping, Deputy Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and Director of SIP Administrative Committee, summarized at the meeting that the inspections showed initial results but hazards to safe production still existed at different levels. "Some factories need to promote the awareness of safety and to strengthen the management on safety. It's the task of local authorities to always keep in mind the 'red line' of production safety in order to secure safety with the strictest standards and requirements as well as the most effective measures and accountability system."

Wang Xiang, Standing Committee member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, reiterated the overall requirements of "full coverage, zero tolerance, strict enforcement, and focus on actual results" in safety inspection and violation correction. "It's important for the authorities and offices to set up regular mechanism and system to manage the source and to control the process," he said. "We should have a long-term system in place for safeguarding work safety. This system is based on law and features strict supervision. The goal is to create a safe and stable environment for SIP's social and economic development."

Before the meeting, the No. 5 supervision team of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee made an inspection tour at Tesa Plant (Suzhou) and Endurocide Bio Technics (SIP) Co. Ltd. to ensure the production safety during the National Day holidays.
