Wang Xiang, Standing Committee member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, went to Loufeng Sub-District Office listening to the briefing on their learning and practicing the Party's mass line theories on the afternoon of September 17. Liu Feijia, deputy leader of municipal supervision team, and Shen Yongjin, leader of No. 3 SIP supervision team, also attended the briefing.

Secretary Gu Sanqiang of CPC Loufeng Sub-District Working Committee briefed the officials about the learning session and introduced 40 rectification measures and 6 treatment actions. Shen Yongjin reported the supervision results.

Wang Xiang recognized the achievements of the local authorities. "You have met the requirements of the superior organs, acted based on actual conditions and without any modifications, and at the same time launched your own activities." He also gave credit to the leading officials for being role models for other Party members in learning, self-examining and self-criticizing, and in correcting irregularities.

He also pointed out that the learning and practicing program had come to a critical point of making rectifications and setting up regular systems, which was "the most difficult phase" in order to obtain tangible results. "We should learn and carry out the directions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee to review our previous work, to set up regular mechanism, to promote successful experience, and to systemize the successful practice for our future work. The supervision teams should be strict with the officials and to make sure that all the assignments are accomplished."

Since SIP government initiated the program over six months ago, the campaign against four work style problems of formalism, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance has obtained initial results. "But this is no time for us to sit back and relax," warned the local Party leader. "We have to stay sober and stick to the continuous education and improvement of work style, the strict political life within the Party, and the established purposes. Meanwhile, we should pay special attention to the details and manage to carry on the good work styles."

Wang Xiang reiterated that the ultimate goal of this program was to promote economic and social development. Loufeng sub-district has managed to achieve stable and healthy growth this year, but it still requires hard work to accomplish annual tasks. Wang Xiang asked local officials to learn the speech made by Secretary General Xi about Comrade Jiao Yulu. "We should transform the enthusiasm generated from the learning program into driving force promoting reform and development. If we unite together and pool all the resources available, I have confidence that we can complete all the tasks of reform, development, and social stability."
