Suzhou Industrial Park Customs is one of the few to try out a new state policy asking local companies engaged directly in import and export activities to disclose their own violations and illegal practices on initiative and voluntary basis. There is no restriction on type of industry, property of trade, size of business, and category of administration. Those disclosing the information required will have their responsibilities diminished.

Launched by General Administration of Customs, the program encourages companies to make self-examination and to report the issues found during the process to local customs. There are two applicable situations. One is for the companies receiving the Inspection Notice issued by the customs and reporting the issues not listed on the notice; the other is for those not inspected by the customs but finding and reporting existing issues after self-examination.
