The People's Procuratorate of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) recently held a meeting with representatives of six foreign banks including Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, Development Bank of Singapore, discussing with them the risks of and preventive measures against duty crimes in finance sector and criminal crimes such as credit card fraud.

There are at present over 140 commercial buildings in SIP with more than 3,000 businesses. SIP People's Procuratorate therefore designed a special program providing legal advisory services to a group of companies in each building to improve work efficiency.

"The concept of 'building prevention' targets at all the businesses and their staff in one building and takes into consideration individual needs as well," explained Deputy Chief Lu Weijiao of SIP Procuratorate. "This would make the best use of our limited resources."

As part of the preparation for the program, SIP Procuratorate set up a database of companies grouped by buildings, including their basic information and legal needs. Other measures include a night school for corporate employees at different levels, a study and exchange platform sending newsletters and messages through email, QQ, and WeChat, broadcasting commercials at public areas promoting public awareness of clean and honest governance, and mail boxes collecting complaints and suggestions against corruption.
