Shi Taifeng welcomed Chang Won Kie and said that Samsung showed great confidence in Suzhou when it decided in 2011 to launch its high-generation LCD project in Suzhou Industrial Park. "I noticed Samsung's efforts in fulfilling its social responsibilities," said Shi Taifeng. "China and Korea recently signed a series of important agreements and this means the cooperation between the two countries has come to a new start. I hope Samsung would grasp the chance, continuously make Suzhou your important strategic base, and keep expanding our cooperation in high-end manufacturing and service sector." He also promised that Suzhou government would provide better services.

Chang Won Kie recalled Samsung's two-decade cooperation with Suzhou and said that, among Samsung's total investment of 16.8 billion US dollars in China by the end of 2013, 4.6 billion went to SIP. "We'll invest one billion dollars in Suzhou this year," he said. "The plan is to make adjustments to our industrial structure and to emphasize capital-intensive sectors, high-end manufacturing, and services. I believe our cooperation will go deep and extensive and we're looking forward to your consistent support."
