SIP Officials Talk to Residents at 110 Residential Communities in July Communicating Program

On the morning of July 13, officials of Suzhou Industrial Park went to 110 residential communities meeting residents, listening to their needs and complaints, and making investigations according to the instructions made by SIP Community Construction Steering Committee Office.

 

At Gaobang Community, Director Yang Zhiping of SIP Administrative Committee talked to the residents who contracted farmland in other places, retired teachers, families facing financial challenges, and neighborhood art troupe. He took notes and answered every question. "Our job is to let all the people in SIP to benefit from economic growth." As for the issues of relocation policies, medical insurance, and civil affairs, he said it took time to balance different interests and to address different demands, and he appreciated their understanding and patience. He promised to see to the setup of grocery market and culture and sports facilities soon.

 

At Zhangjing, Fengqing Shui'an, and Hanlinyuan, the officials discussed with local residents the renovation projects, community management, public transport, environment treatment, education, and medical services. The proposals included installing a right-turn traffic light at the crossing of Xiandai Avenue and Nanshi Street, expanding community medical services, recruiting teachers for SIP No. 2 Experimental Primary School and Fangzhou Primary School, and getting more lights for the square park at night. Li Yinong, Sun Yanyan, and Liu Xiaomei asked the volunteers to take notes on these proposals and report to the Steering Committee Office so as to be transferred to the authorities in charge for timely solution.

Based on the monthly Communicating Day, SIP government launched in May 2014 the more extensive program once every two months, encouraging the officials to go to communities and talk to residents directly. In May, the authorities collected nearly 600 proposals concerning public transport, community facilities, civil affairs, environmental protection, education, medical service, and social security. According to the instructions of SIP Community Construction Steering Committee Office, the authorities answered all the proposals within three weeks and solved 97% of the issues.
