On April 11, Secretary Wang Xiang of CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee went to Xietang sub-district inspecting the work of replacing secondary industries with tertiary sector, the industrial layout, and the community service facilities. The accompanying officials included Wu Hong, Xia Fang, Yu Caigen, and heads of SIPAC Office, Service Development Bureau, Social Management Bureau, and Social Development Bureau.

The officials toured Lianhua No. 4 Community, Jinfang Culture & Creativity Industrial Park, and Wusongjiang Park. Lianhua No. 4 is building the first community nursing home in SIP for everyday and emergency aid as well as domestic services. The construction of basic facilities has been completed and the management is working on a database dedicated to senior residents.

Based on existing industrial foundation of Xietang and current resources of Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation District, Jinfang Culture & Creativity Industrial Park extends from decoration sector to advertisement and e-business with a three-year plan of building 150,000-square-meter facilities. The secretary listened to the briefing about these plans and recognized the efforts of promoting resource efficiency and industrial transformation.

At Wusongjiang Park, the officials learned the details of its construction plan. The park consists of green ground by river and a public square, which "meets actual needs of local residents," said Wang Xiang.

Xietang is an important part of SIP's technological innovation area and it has become a business and residential center in southern SIP. It has built one million square meters of business and trade facilities serving over 300,000 people. The sub-district and Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation District create a new center for SIP.
