Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, met with Kent Kost, senior executive for global operations at Roche Diagnostics, and his contingent on Sept 16.

The Swiss healthcare company inaugurated Roche Diagnostics (Suzhou) in SIP last October. The project, with a total investment of US$ 299 million, is claimed as Roche’s first manufacturing and R&D base in the Asian-Pacific region, specializing in research, development and production of diagnostic reagents used in immunological and biochemical detections for treatment of tumors, metabolic disorders and cardiovascular, hepatic and infectious diseases.
At the event, Wu gave the guests an introduction to China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area, a new free trade zone in SIP. He hopes Roche Diagnostics can take full advantage of the innovative business support policies and services in the area to expand its footprint in SIP.
Kent Kost expressed thanks for SIP authorities’ consistent support to Roche Diagnostics’ operations in SIP, offered details about the company’s Suzhou factory and disclosed its future development plans. He also expects to see more cooperation opportunities between the two parties.
