The 2019 China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition (CMDDEC) Finals cum Medical Device Innovation Week (MDIW) kicked off in SIP on Sept 5. 

 

CMDDEC is run by China Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance with the support from Department of Science and Technology for Social Development and China Technology Market Management and Promotion Center at the country’s Ministry of Science and Technology. Statistics show that 15 projects winning the 1st CMDDEC last year received a total investment of nearly RMB 1.7 billion within three months after that event.

This year’s event encompassed preliminaries, quarter-finals and finals in the categories of optics & mechatronics, in vitro diagnosis, AI & software and materials and accessories. A total of 66 projects selected from 607 entries from home and abroad gained the entry to the finals, and forty won the top three places.

 

The three-day Medical Device Innovation Week 2019 opened concurrently. Relying on CMDDEC, Medical Fair China, Device China, China Medical Device Innovation Forum, Translational Medicine Innovation Seminar and tens of other forums, it is designed to showcase the latest outcomes in medical device innovation and development and facilitate partnering between related research institutes, manufacturers and other market players.
