Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences inaugurated its AIR Suzhou Institute in SIP on Dec 20, announcing that the new research arm will be dedicated to study on aeronautical big data and AI technologies for localized application in a wide range of fields.

Based in Beijing, AIR offers theoretical basis and technical solutions for economic development, national defense and public services. It has established good partnerships with a host of SIP-based enterprises and academic institutions and helped four businesses under its incubation programs settle down in SIP. AIR hopes the new branch will lead it to new cooperative relations with local enterprises and research institutes in commercializing research findings.

"SIP has abundant human resources and integrated industrial ecosystems that have laid a solid foundation for research projects and commercialization of research findings. We are seeking to apply our research outcomes in traffic, disaster prevention, urban planning and other fields concerning people's livelihood," AIR president Wu Yirong said.
