The "New Ceramics" Contemporary Ceramic Installation Exhibition, one of the parallel events during the 2018 Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale, kicked off at Yi'Oulai Yiting Exhibition Hall, Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR), on June 5. It is the first time that part of the biennale is held in YLPTR.

On display are a number of fantastic installations made of ceramic materials. Among them is a three-dimensional landscape picture by Zhang Ming, which features subtle color rendering using white ceramic pieces, and one by pottery artist Jin Zhenhua, who is apt at metaphorical expression of life moments. All the exhibits demonstrate the artists' profound understanding of both ceramics and installation art.
