Economic Development
SIP achieved a sustained annual economic growth of 50%. A group of foreign enterprises with annual turnover exceeding USD 1 billion or corporate income tax of over USD 100 million has emerged. Over 70% of the enterprises are in operation or in production. Most enterprises in operation for 2 years or more are profitable, of which a quarter have recovered their investment.

Investment Promotion
SIP has attracted over 1300 foreign companies and 6500 domestic companies, among which 50 belong to the global fortune 500 companies. The cumulative contractual foreign investment is USD 15 billion and cumulative contractual domestic investment is RMB 30 billion.


Pertaining to investment sizes, the investment density in SIP exceeds USD1.2 billion per square kilometer. The average project investment is over USD 31million. There are 45 projects with investments of over USD 100 million each, among which 5 projects exceed USD 1 billion.

Looking at the industry breakdown, Many companies in SIP are hi-tech oriented such as electronics telecommunication, precision and mechanical engineering, biological and pharmaceutical industries. Three significant industry clusters, the semiconductor, optronics and components and parts for aerospace and automotive are formed.
