New Upsurge in Cooperation and Coordination Among SIP Industries
SIP Enterprises Cooperation and Coordination Conference, held on Dec. 11 at Genway Hotel, was attended by representatives from over 200 foreign-invested and civilian-run enterprises, including some of the Fortune-500 companies. Mr. Huang Jiyue, Vice-chairman of Sipac, spoke at the meeting and pledged to adhere to the pro-business approach in a stable situation for enterprises in profit-making, and to build up a mechanism for enterprises inside and outside of SIP to engage in more extensive cooperation in industrial upgrading and growth of tertiary industry.
In the past 13 years' development and construction, SIP has attracted a total of contracted foreign capital investment of 31.2 billion USD, and paid-up investment of 18.1 billion USD. Of the 3,062 foreign-invested projects are 115 from Fortune-500 corporations. In recent years, the private enterprises are making headway in development in SIP. A notable instance is the Kinglong Coach plant, which registered an anuual sales revenue of over 10 billion RMB. The fast development in SIP brings about great business opportunities in cooperation and coordination.
At the conference, enterprise representatives from well-known Fortune-500 companies like Black and Decker, Hitachi Instruments, Grundfos Pumps, and Avision Technology, as well as from technology-oriented enterprises like Centec Networks, took the opportunity to introduce their demands for coordination and backup services.
Among those to take floor at the meeting are civilian-run enterprises Tianhua Technology and Diploma Cleaning Technology, which are preparing for public listing.Display of products was arranged during the conference for on-spot exchange and communication among enterprises, relating to electronics, machinery, light industry, garment, and service industries, and showing great demands for cooperation and coordination. The Fortune-500 enterprises in SIP several billion US dollars' claim for backup services and products, and Konglong Coaches has a annual list of procurement worth of several billion RMB.
The conference gives a signal that civilian-run enterprises need to speed up technological progress and industrial restructuring to keep up with the demands for cooperation by the highly-technological and large-scaled SIP enterprises.
