Second SIPAFI Council Held Second Session
The Second Council of SIP Association with Foreign Investment (SIPAIFI) held the second session at Modern Building on Nov. 30 to review the work report of 2007, the plans for 2008, and report on income and budget of membership dues in 2007. The council passed resolution on the newly elected secretary-general of the association, Mr. Zhang Yishi, Vice-director of SIP Bureau of Economic and Trade Development.
In 2007, the association organized a series of activities, such as lectures on taxation, logistics, labor contract law, the comprehensive bonded zone, IPR, “Soiree on Wu Culture”, sports competitions, spring excursion, etc., and jointly sponsored “SIP Charity Promotion Meeting’ with SIP Charity Federation. These activities helped to enrich the cultural life of the employees of foreign-invested enterprises and their families promoted understanding and friendship among the members. The journal of the association, changed into a bi-monthly in February with the new name “Sharing SIP”, has become an important platform and carrier for inter-enterprise exchanges.
In 2008, the memberships of the association will be expanded to 800 enterprises, according to the work plan.
The council held a meeting of the executive members of association on the previous evening, presided over by Chairman Zhou Xun of the association, in which the attendees deliberated on the two work reports and agreed to appoint Mr. Zhang Yishi the secretary-general of the association in a one-slate election.
According to the authorization of the association, Chairman Zhou nominated deputy secretary-generals of the association and the proposition was endorsed at the session. The newly elected secretary-generals are: Ms. Zhao Zhen (executive general -secretary) for SIP Bureau of Economic and Trade Development, Ms. Shen Sufeng, Vice-director of SIP Investment Promotion Bureau, Xu Sheng, Director of SIP One-stop Service Center, Sun Jianhua, Assistant to Director of Investment Promotion Center of Loufeng Township, and Lu Shunlong, Vice-director of Investment Promotion Center of Weiting Township.
