Hasegawa Flavors Co. Enters SIP

Hasegawa Flavors (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., invested by the Japanese-owned T. Hasegawa Co., Ltd., held a ground-breaking ceremony on Nov. 29 in SIP.

The century-old T. Hasegawa Co., Ltd. was founded in 1903 as a producer of flavors and fragrances for foods and daily necessities. Currently the company has two production bases in Japan and a plant in USA. Its sales revenue ranks among the top ten in the global flavors and fragrances industry. Hasegawa began investment in China in 2001, when it set up a Shanghai plant. The Suzhou plant was incorporated in 2006 with a registered capital of US$ 15.5 million and total investment of US$46.5 million. The plant is expected to commence operation in 2009. The main products will be powdered flavors, dairy flavorings, and natural flavorings.
