IBM Backs Up Suzhou In Innovation
IBM, the global leader in information technology and service solutions, held an opening ceremony for its branch company in Suzhou, which added up to the number of 26 IBM offices in China. Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Committee, and Mr. Zhou Weikun, Chairman of IBM China Region, attended the opening ceremony and spoke at the occasion.
The Suzhou branch of IBM is one the only two IBM companies set up in cities other than provincial capitals, as well as the second in Jiangsu Province, the other being the one set up in Nanjing ten years ago. The business of Suzhou Office will embrace information services in Suzhou area and surrounding cities like Wuxi and Nantong.
IBM places customer service, innovation and credibility as the priority in business. About one third of its revenues come from services. The establishment of Suzhou Office is a continuation of IBM's commitment of localization and customer service. As Mr. Zhou Weikun put it, IBM will strive to be a "strong and innovative service entity" to assist Suzhou in the transformation from "made in Suzhou" to "created in Suzhou".
