600 manufacturers Swarm at 2007 Suzhou eMEX
2007 China Suzhou Electronics Manufacturers Expo (eMEX), unveiled on Oct. 18 in SIP, showed a grand gathering of over 600 exhibitors from manufacturers and business entities. The expo, apart from demonstrating the latest IT technology, is staging several technological forums.
IT industry in Suzhou has formed its own industrial chain, and with the mushrooming of globally prestigious electronic R&D centers, Suzhou is increasingly seen as a hi-tech manufacturing and service center in the Yangtze delta region.
The current eMEX, which is the 6th event held in Suzhou, consists of 5 thematic sections, namely, semiconductors, electronic components and circuits, materials, program equipment and optical electronics, LCD technology and information technology and service, manufacturing IT solutions, and digital life. Symposium on semiconductor and forum on software of manufacturing industries are being held during the event, and 2007 China Computer Conference is concurrently held by China Computer Society.
Taiwan-invested IT enterprises continue to act as the main force in the current event, which comprise 38% of the participators. Those from Europe, America, Japan, and Korea make up 25% of the exhibitors.
Sponsors of the present eMEX are Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. The eMEX will last till Oct. 21.
