Delegation of University of Salford (UK) Visits SIPIVT
A delegation of University of Salford, Britain, composed of Prof. John Sharp, Prof. Derrick Hill, and Dr. Fu Xin, visited SIP Institute of Vocational Technology on Sept. 3, accompanied by Ms. Wang Yufen, Chairperson of Suziang Education Group, and Lu Zhengjun, Deputy GM of the Group. The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Shan Qiang, President of the institute, Dr. Sun Haiquan, Vive-president, Mr. Pan Weidong, Director of the General Office of the institute, and Chen Yingli, teacher of the foreign language department.
Salford University was first founded in 1896 as British Royal Institute of Technology, and assumed its present name in 1967. It enjoys a worldwide fame for its vocational education. Prof. Sharp and Prof. Hill are well-known scholars in the business school of the university, with academic accomplishment in management and financial research. The guests visited SIPIVT for preliminary exchange on cooperation in education.
Dr. Shan Qiang gave the guests a round-down of the history and management concept of the institute and showed them around the training facilities, followed by candid and cordial exchange of views. The guests gave high appraisal to the teaching facilities and management concept of the institute, and also gave a general introduction about the internationalized teaching at Salford University. The two sides were favorably impressed with the discussion that laid a sound foundation for future cooperation.
The two schools agreed to maintain friendly contact and enhance communications, and to make breakthroughs in the cooperation of internationalized education through mutual benefit.
