APP Sets Up World-class Pulp R&D Center in Suzhou
Recently, APP Pulp Technology R&D Center was approved in SIP, which marks the shift of focus of investment towards the Yangtze delta region by APP and its full confidence in China investment.
The Indonesia-based Sinar Mas Group (APP) was founded in 1973, and has grown into one of the top ten paper making manufacturers globally. The Suzhou APP Pulp Technology R&D Center, based on APP's global manufacturing facilities and by relying on the HR resources in the Yangtze delta region with the integrated role of research and development and incubation, will be engaged in the research of wooden-pulp-free paper making technology, pollution-control technology, and nanotechnology in support of a series of applications, including new-type paper making equipment and the development of advanced quality paper products, fabric fillings, and new paper material, etc. The center operates with a core technology committee with 5 teams taking charge of open lab operation, industrial cooperation promotion, basic platform construction, international cooperation planning, and top technology R&D team. The research and development personnel will gradually be transferred to the Suzhou Center from Indonesia, Europe, and USA to make the center the world-class R&D center with a staff of 300 and first-rate research capabilities.
