Laotian Guest Visit SIP
A 14-member delegation of Laos, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat visited SIP on Aug. 5 and had talks with responsible members of Sipac. Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, attended the talks and delivered a speech.
Earlier this year, the two sides of Suzhou and Laos signed "Agreement of Strategic Cooperation on the Construction of Sports Facilities for 2009 Southeast Games in Viantienne, Laos, and Related Comprehensive Development", and Suzhou Industrial Park was entrusted with the historic mission to work as a close cooperation partner of Viantienne City of Laos in the development of the new urban district of Viantienne. On the current visit of the Laotian delegation, Ma Minglong, Chairman of Sipac, first showed the guests to the Neighborhood Center on the east of Jinji Lake since the brand name of community service is to be introduced to Viantinne. Then the delegation was shown to the residential area in Jinji Lake Bay, where Mr. Somsavat made detailed inquiries on the layout and structure of the apartment buildings, and showed keen interest in the waste treatment of the area. The delegation also saw the industrial sub-zone along Suhong Road.
At the discussion, Wang Jinhua expressed welcome to the guests, and said that the visit by Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat would speed up the course of cooperation between the two sides, and that SIP would work towards the goal of building up a new urban district in Viantienne with beautiful environment, developed economy, and first-class infrastructure. Wang told the guests that the construction was to start early in 2008.
At the discussion, the delegation was given a full account of the investment climate, infrastructure construction, economic progress, and living environment in SIP, and then saw the exhibition to learn the historical development of SIP.
