Yan Li Meets Laotian Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat
Yan Li, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, met Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat of Laos and his entourage on Aug. 5, with the presence of Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and Zhou Weiqiang, Executive Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Vice-mayor of Suzhou.
Yan Li expressed warm welcome to the visit by Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat and his elation to see the comprehensive project being unfolded through joint efforts of Suzhou and Laos as a special tie. He assured the guests of the great attention and utmost efforts of Suzhou in the project. He told the guests that Suzhou would employ its experience in the siting and design of the project and carry it smoothly to a conclusion. The mayor also hoped that Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat would put forward valuable suggestions and give full support to the project.
Mr. Somsavat said that this was his third visit to Suzhou, and along his delegation came senior officials involved in the Viantienne project including the mayor, with the purpose to learn the successful experience of Suzhou in SIP development. He was glad to learn that the project would be started by the beginning of next year. He felt confident about the success of the project with the full support of the top leaders of China and Laos. He also told the host that the citizens of Viantienne are placing high expectations on the project.
