IEWC to Build Cable Plant in Weiting Township
A ceremony was held to commence the construction of plant by Industrial Electric & Cable (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in Weiting Township, SIP, on June 18.
The plant is the first operation entity in China, invested by US-based IEWC, a world leader in electrical cable manufacturing, with US$ 1.4 million for the first phase to produce and process 200 tons of varieties of electrical cables and related products annually for automobile, communication, power industries, electrical equipment, and safety control systems.
The consumption of cable in China has maintained a 2-digit percentage increase in the last decade and more, and in the field of mechanical processing, the cable manufacturing has become the second largest category next only to auto industry.
