Governor Liang Baohua Meets Guests from Singapore
Liang Baohua, Governor of Jiangsu Province, met Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry of Singpaore, and his entourage in Nanjing on the evening of April 16 and had cordial talks with the guests.
Liang said, "It's a great pleasure to meet Minister Lee again. The close exchange and cooperation between Jiangsu and Singapore has yielded fruitful results. Suzhou Industrial Park has become a showcase of the relation of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. We hope that the two sides will further expand the field of cooperation geographically and make concerted efforts to develop international market so as to raise our exchange and cooperation to a new level." Liang also briefed the guests on the economic and social development in Jiangsu.
Minister Lee Thanked Liang Baohua for the warm reception and said, "As the result of the deepening of economic and trade cooperation between Singapore and China, the investment by Singapore in Jiangsu has made up one third of that in the whole of China. I wholly agree with Governor Liang Baohua's proposal to expand the cooperation between the two sides, and we'll encourage more enterprises of Singapore to invest in Jiangsu."
Present at the meeting were Mr. Chan Hing Wing, Consul General of Singapore in Shanghai, Li Xiaomin, Secretary-general of Jiangsu Provincial Government, and responsible members of departments concerned.
