Suzhou Suqian Industrial Park Plans Approved Through Experts' Evaluation
Specialized plans of Suzhou Suqian Industrial Park (SSIP) were accepted by experts at evaluation meeting held on the morning of March 22 with the presence of Xu Huimin, Executive Vice-mayor of Suqian, and Shen Xiaoying, Vice-mayor of Suzhou, Secretary of SSIP Party Working Committee and Director of SSIP Administrative Committee.
At the evaluation meeting, the experts formed an evaluation group and assessed the planning of different fields in SSIP, followed by serious analysis and discussion. The consensus of opinions at the meeting was that the individual plans of SSIP were made in strict conformity to "Master Plan of Suqian Urban Developmwent" and "Mater Plan of Suzhou Suqian Industrial Park" with clear orientation, sound basis, factual references, and due attention to priorities. The plans, catering for development of different industries and the status quo of the industrial park in both short-term and long-term perspectives, are feasible and provide scientific basis for construction drawings. The expert group also suggested some revisions to the various plans to speed up the implementation.
Xu Huimin points out at the meeting that the successful experience being adapted from SIP is to plan before construction, and to build the subterranean infrastructure before construction above ground. After the master plan of SSIP was approved through experts' evaluation and examination by Suqian Planning Deliberation Committee on Dec. 20, 2006, the municipal government issued the approval of the master plan with minor readjustments. Since January this year, SSIP entrusted the drafting of various sub-plans to specialized designing units to form a systematic planning for the urban infrastructure construction.
