IC Cards Cover All of SIP in Medicare
SIP Bureau of Labor and Social Security held a working conference on SIP provident fund and designated medical service units to review the work since 2005 in IC card application in medical insurance networking and to put forth tasks for SPF in 2007.
Since the second half of 2005, SIP Bureau of Labor and Social Security has formulated and announced 10 statutory documents, like "implementation regulations on SPF Medical Insurance", to lay the foundation for use of IC cards in medical service network. SPF Management Center organized the project tendering, equipment procurement, installation, and trial application of membership card system, and the development of management sub-systems at designated medical institutions. A total of 302,000 cards were issued, and through coordination of 16 designated hospital, all of the SPF members began to use IC cards for medical service at the end of last year. By the end of 2006, 360,588 person/times were registered for medical attention at hospitals, which accounted for 64.6% of the total medical fees of the year.
An in-depth reform is being unfolded to build up a medical insurance system with wider coverage and higher level of benefit and better service. In the first 6 months of 2007, all designated drug stores will be covered in the SPF networking system, and in the second half of 2007, application and networking will be completed for community clinics to ensure rational use of medical insurance funds.
