SIP Shahe Substation Goes into Operation
The 220-Kv (Zone 3 North) Shahe Substation, the Phase-III expansion project in SIP, was completed and put into operation on Dec. 14, Being the 50th substation for 220-voltage power transmission in SIP, Shahe substation will play a vital role in ensuring power supply for the urban and rural areas of SIP in this winter and spring next year.
To cope with the tendency of sustained increase of power consumption in winter time in Suzhou, the Municipal Power Supply Co. has sped up the construction of power grid, and completed a series of substations before the depth of winter to enhance the reliability of power supply. Operation and management of the power grid are also reinforced to protect against power failures, and specific measure were taken to prevent frost, freezing, and explosion.
The municipal authorities have formulated "Measures on Handling Emergency Cases" to deal with the shortage of 400,000-Kv power supply, caused by gas suspension in some of the power stations, and called on closer communication between the government departments, enterprises, and the power supply company so as to meet the customers' demand for power to the maximum extent.
