Wang Rong Meets Guests from Singapore
Wang Rong, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of S\uzhou Municipal Party Committee, met Mr. Loh Wai Keong, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore and Director of Software Project Office, and his group on Nov. 8 at Nanjing Grand Hotel. Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, was also present at the meeting.
Wang Rong expressed welcome to Mr. Loh Wai Keong and his delegation, and congratulated him on taking up the post of Director of MTI Software Project Office of Singapore. Wang confirmed that the government of Singapore had offered efficient support and assistance in the development and construction of Suzhou Industrial Park, the major project of cooperation between the governments of China and Singapore, in the past ten years, and expressed sincere thanks for the useful work done by the Software Project Office as a bridge in pushing forward the bilateral cooperation and transferring the experience of Singapore in economic and public administration to SIP. Wang said that in the recent 11th Jiangsu Provincial Party Congress, the requirement was raised to build SIP into an industrial park of the most advanced level with international competitiveness. He hoped that the exemplary role of the Software Project Office would be further demonstrated in the whole province and the rest of China. He pledged that the government departments of Suzhou would continue to support the development of SIP and to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with Singapore at various levels, and that Singapore would provide more assistance in the development of Suzhou and the whole of Jiangsu Province.
Mr. Loh Wai Keong thanked the host for the gracious reception and said that Suzhou Industrial Park was the most important cooperation project between the governments of China and Singapore as well as the most successful example of the governmental cooperation. He said that it was the holp of Singapore side that the speedy and healthy growth of SIP would make it an example of success among all the development zones in China. He was optimistic that wide prospect existed in the cooperation between Singapore Software Office and Suzhou, and the side of Singapore would continue to strengthen its exchange and share its experience with Suzhou and work together with Suzhou to attain the goals of SIP for the next ten years.
Wang Rong and Mr. Loh Wai Keong had an in-depth discussion on the further promotion of cooperation in the adaptation of the experience of Singapore in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
