The 5th eMEX to Unfold on Oct. 18
The eMEX China 2006, the foremost IT exposition in China, will rank the first in the country in numbers of exhibition booths, participating multinational corporations, and Taiwan-funded enterprises. At the press release held on Oct. 13 in Shenzhen Orient Yinzuo Hotel, Zhou Weiqiang, Deputy Mayor of Suzhou, gave a briefing on the economic development in Suzhou and the special features of the forthcoming eMEX, and invited friends from Shenzhen to attend the event.
The eMEX 2006 is jointly sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, the State Council Office for Taiwan Affairs, and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. The expo ranks the first in the number of booths (altogether 1,622, shared by 518 exhibitors, the number of multinational corporation exhibitors (e.g., the world-known Fairchild, Canon, Hitachi, Sansung, 3M, GE, Panda, Sinco, etc.), and the number of Taiwan-funded enterprises (e.g., BenQ, Accer, AU Optronics, etc.)
Deputy Mayor Zhou Weiqiang said that the Pearl River delta region is a location of huge IT enterprises, and though all the exhibition booths in the approaching even had been booked, he hoped that more friends of the business circles would come to visit the event in Suzhou and prepare to participate in it next year. Zhao Weinan, Secretary-general of Dongguan Taiwan-invested enterprises Association, told the reporters that the same expo in Dongguan is showing a decline because more and more IT enterprises are being transferred to the Yangtze delta region, and that the expo in Suzhou is demonstrating powerful industrial superiority with ever-increasing influence.
According to reports, the serial activities during the eMEX 2006 will include "Forum on Service Models and Development Trend of Global Manufacturing", "Forum on Globalization and Innovation of Supply Chain", "Forum on Grand Corporate Future", "Forum on Technological Human Resources in Both Sides of the Taiwan Straights", and "Forum on New Concept of Information Over the Straights", etc. Corporate Days and new product releases will also be held during the exposition.
