Suzhou and Shenzhen Vie to Host IC China 2007
Jointly organized by China Semiconductor Industrial Association, IT Branch of China Council for Trade Promotion, and the People's Government of Suzhou Municipality, "IC China 2006" was held on Sept. 6 at Suzhou Int'l Expo Center, which surpassed all previous events in both the scale and number of visitors. IC China has proved to be an influential brand name.
Well-known domestic IC designing companies and chip manufacturers, and internationally prestigious corporations attended the exhibition.
Extensive and in-depth symposiums are a highlight at the current IC China. Discussions are centered around the core tasks in improving the competitiveness of China's semiconductor industry and the status and development trend of microelectronics industry, and the development of technology and market, etc. new concept in enterprise management is also a hot topic at the symposiums.
CEOs and chairmen from some dozen influential enterprises, such as Fujitsu, AMD, Tokyo Precision, and Skyworth, etc., and other senior leaders delivered lectures at the summit, and attracted over 400 audience.
It is reported from the permanent council session of China Semiconductor Industrial Association that the cities of Suzhou and Shenzhen have submitted application reports and plans to host IC China 2007. Suzhou is one of the regions in China, where IC industrial chain has been formed with complete clusters of enterprises and advanced technological levels, represented by a good number of well-known multinational corporations such as Infineon, Sansung, AMD, etc. High attention and support from the government put Suzhou in a superior position to compete for IC China sponsorship. On the other hand, the special economic zone of Shenzhen is showing strong competitiveness in semiconductor industry as well as in hardware and software conditions and transportation facilities. It is hard to predict which city will be the winner in the competition for the hosting of IC China 2007.
