SIP Int'l Tech Park Aligns with N.C. China Center
SIP International Technology Park signed a cooperation agreement on May 15 with American North Carolina China Center, generally acclaimed as "golden delta of scientific research", and the latter is to set up an office in SIP, the first one in China. The alignment between the two sides will focus on investment in hi-tech development.
North Carolina is presently the most dynamic region of scientific research in USA, where enterprises fall into the three major categories of biological science, IT, and environmental protection. Multinational corporations like IBM, Cisco Systems, Ericsson, Northern Telecom, and Dupont have set up large-scale R&D centers in the state. On February 24 this year, enterprises and universities interested in China's economy initiated the organization of NC China Center with the aim to promote exchanges with China in economy, sci-tech, and culture.
SIP Int'l Technology Park, a major carrier of technological innovation in Suzhou and an incubator of new and hi-tech enterprises, has grown into a "national software industry park", "experimentation base for China's software export to Europe and America", "national animation industry base", and "returned Chinese students' venture center" since its founding in April 2004. By the end of March, the park had attracted 180 domestic and foreign hi-tech enterprises, R&D institutions and research institutes with over 6,000 hi-tech personnel. At the signing ceremony, the chairman of NC China Center says that North Carolina, based on the office in SIP, will push forward the cooperation with SIP in the field of scientific and technological service, especially in software development and consigned designing and production, and serve as a bridge in promoting the entry of N.C. enterprises into China and investment in N.C. by Chinese enterprises.
