Arch Chemicals Lays Foundation in SIP
Arch Chemicals (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. held a foundation laying ceremony on Feb. 16 in SIP, attended by Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, Ma Minglong, Director of Sipac, Michael E. Campbell, Chairman of Arch Chemicals, and other guests of honor.
Arch Chemidcals, based in Connecticut, USA, is a major producer of special chemicals in the world. Its products are chiefly applied in water treatment, such as drinking water, swimming pools, water disinfectants for fruits and vegetables, and preservation coating for timber. The natural and safe chemical materials in hair and skin care and the prescription against dandriff are well known across the world. The total investment of Arch Chemicals (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. is 45 million USD, with 18 million registered capital. The Arch plant is expected to complete by December 2007. Michael Campbell, Chairman of Arch Chemicals and currently economic consultant of Bush Administration, tells reporters that Arch is committed to fostering a large capacity of production, procurement, and services in China, and that most of the products listed above will be produced in China and sold at the Chinese and Asian market, and some even to American and European market. The company will pursue a management principle of "responsibility of care without targeted benefit" to contribute to the development of SIP and the improvement of community environment.
