Prestigious Int’l Auto-electronic Plant Opens in Loufeng Township
The American-invested Stoneridge Asian-Pacific Electronic (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. held an opening ceremony on Jan. 12 in Loufeng Township.
The world-famous Stoneridge Inc., the parent company of Stoneridge Asian-Pacific Electronic (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., was first founded in 1965 and rose up over the years as a globally leading multinational designer and manufacturer of highly engineered electrical and electronic components, modules and systems principally for the automotive, medium and heavy-duty trucks and cruisers. Its 18 plants and 14 sales and engineering companies across the world generate an annual turnout of nearly 700 million US dollars. The Stoneridge plant in Loufeng Township is the first investment project of Stoneridge Inc. in China, which signals its official entry into the Chinese market of auto-electronics.
The opening of the new Stoneridge plant has added new momentum to the fast-growing automotive industry in Loufeng. The township is continuing its efforts in 2006 in marketing for foreign investment in broader areas, aiming at domestic and overseas hi-tech and traditional industries, and attempting to introduce more brand-name, or highly taxable enterprises to build up the most advanced rural industrial town in the country.
