The First Foreign-funded “Kowloon Hospital” Opens in Suzhou
Kowoon Hospital, the first foreign-funded hospital in Suzhou, opens for service on Jan. 6.
Suzhou Kowloon Hospital, approved by Ministry of Public Health and invested by HK Kowoon Group, is a large-sized comprehensive hospital built through cooperation with Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The hospital occupies a land area of 138,000 square meters and floorage of 110,000 square meters with 1,000 beds in the first phase of construction, which cost 560 million yuan RMB investment. The hospital has been designated by the municipal government as a institution for medical insurance and appointed by SIP Provident Fund system as a medical service provider. A Shanghai experts group has been formed by Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University and professionals of the ten affiliated comprehensive hospitals to support the hospital, and therefore the hospital has attracted much attention of patients. Noticeable influence is anticipated from the hospital at the medical service market in Suzhou.
