HK Technology and SIP International Technology Park sign agreement in the presence of Wang Jinhua,
Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee.
In seeking cooperation with Hong Kong in the service sector during the investment promotion campaign, the SIP delegation had its attention on technological industries. On the afternoon of Dec. 1, Zhong Ke IC Designing Center and HK Technology Park signed an agreement of cooperation on the training, enterprise incubation, project R & D, in the presence of Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee.
Hong Kong Technology Park was founded in 2001 on a land area of 22 hectares located by green-landscaped harbor district overlooking the New Territory. Its main function is to provide hardware and software construction for technological enterprises, including IC designing/development backup centers, electro-optical development backups, and advanced facilities and services. The park has played a positive role in promoting the industrial innovation and technological upgrading in Hong Kong, and incubated over 170 technology companies, in which IC designing enterprises alone number over 40.
SIP has focused its goal of industrial growth on software development and IC designing in the recent years, and a transition from "manufactured in SIP" to "researched and developed in SIP", with the objective to form a complete IC industrial chain composed of several dozen world-famous enterprises backed up by services in IC designing,, chip manufacturing, testing and assembling, IC equipment and raw materials. At present, by building up multi-platforms of public services in software testing and intellectual property rights protection, SIP International Technology Park has attracted hundreds of hi-tech enterprises, including two thirds of software enterprises of Suzhou and 90% of IC designing enterprises. One of major project is Suzhou Zhong Ke IC Designing Center, built through cooperation between Suzhou and China Academy of Sciences, which serves as an open-typed public platform.
The agreement of cooperation singed this time will make possible interaction between the platforms in SIP IC designing and HK Technology Park. On the one hand, IC enterprises in SIP will get better and more adequate services in the front and rear-end designing, enterprise incubation, and training and on the other hand, those IC designing enterprises in HK Technology Park will find more appropriate manufacturing plants in SIP in their industrialization planning.
