New Horizon Technical Fabrics Commences Operation in SIP
New Horizon Technical Fabrics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., specialized manufacturer and global supplier of fabric mesh for papermaking, commenced operation at the opening ceremony on Oct. 21 in SIP as the first plant in Asia, set up by Asten Jonhson and Heimbach Group, the second largest manufacturer of fabric mesh in the world. Yan Li, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, and Wang Jinhua, Depputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, attended the opening ceremony.
The fabric mesh, an indispensable dehydrating material in papermaking, is vital to the improvement of productivity and quality of papermaking. Asten Johnson Group of the US and Heimbach Group of Germany are both prestigious manufacturers of fabric mesh in the world. The two groups began cooperation in 1991, and the combined group now owns 16 plants in America and Europe with customers all over the world. Their plant in SIP, an investment of 23 million US dollars in the first phase, covers a constructed area of 11,000 square meters. The newly completed workshops will mainly manufacture dry mesh in phase one, with an annual output of 200,000 square meters. In the following years, the company will introduce other varieties of production lines for papermaking fabric mesh to raise the output and production capacity.
