Persist in System Innovation, and Build Up a Society of Harmony
From August 24 to 26, the 1st National Symposium on Labor and Social Security Work in Development Zones was held in the coastal city of Qingdao, sponsored jointly by China Development Zones Association and China Social Security Society, and attended by Leaders and labor and security Bureau heads from more than 30 national-level development zones, and experts in this field. At the symposium, the thesis entitled "Persist in System Innovation to Build Society in Harmony - the Exploration by Suzhou Industrial Park to Adapt Advanced International Experience and Build up a New-type Social Security System" written by Wang Yong, Deputy Director of SIP Labor and Social Security Bureau, won the prize of "excellent thesis". The article gives a detailed introduction to the structure, important role, and development course of SIP Social Security System.
It is pointed out in the thesis: "In Suzhou, the earthly paradise known since ancient times, an industrial park on the shores of Jinji Lake in the east of the city won the fame of a modernized new paradise, where remarkable achievements have been scored in the past ten years' construction, with an annual growth rate of 45% in major economic targets, along with social progress in all fields."
The thesis also reads: "The development and construction of SIP has been guided by scientific concept of development and coordinated growth. In intensive marketing for foreign investment and speeding up infrastructure construction, SIP embarked on the road of adapting international experience in persistent exploration, and gradually built up a new type of social security system with wide coverage and multiple layers characteristic of the industrial park. The social security system is so created as to suit the development level of economic construction of SIP and the living standard of in the rural areas. While maintaining the special feature of the industrial park, the system, embracing the whole of SIP, is well balanced in relationship to that of the surrounding areas of SIP, though the overall benefits of SIP security system are slightly greater than the neighboring regions."
"The SIP social security system, functioning as huge social security network in full demonstration of the unity between economic results with social justice, and the superiority of socialist system, is now in the forefront in attaining the ultimate goal of a harmonious society."
